Heritage North East is a part of the B&A Group having wide interests in tea plantations, tea broking, heritage tourism and multiwall paper bags and sacks. The flagship company of the group in its tea plantation business was incorporated in 1915 having prime quality tea growing area on the south bank of Upper Assam.

More than these enterprises, we represent the tradition of three generations of the renowned Khongia Barooah family of Assam. The patriarch Siva Prasad Barooah(1880-1938) was a pioneer planter, path breaker in Assamese journalism, renowned philanthropist, politician and humanist. He was the champion of economic self-reliance of Assam and the repository of Assamese music, art and culture.

Born in 1926, the same tradition is being maintained by his son Hemendra Prasad Barooah even today. Heritage North East aspires to share all this with you in the heritage ambience of the abode of the Barooahs.
