GUWAHATI - SHILLONG - CHERRAPUNJEE -THENGAL- KAZIRANGA -MAJULI 

DAYO1 Arrival in Guwahati and check in .
DAY 02 In Guwahati after breakfast we visit the famous Kamakhya temple located atop the Nilachal hill on the river Brahmaputra. The Kamakhya Temple is an ancient seat of tantric faith. Structurally , the temple looks like a beehive dome . A few yards away and up we climb the Bhubaneswari Temple and the whole city on the south and the mighty river Brahmaputra on the north open up our eyes. In the afternoon we set off on golden sun-set cruise on the river Brahmputra.
DAY 03 Drive to Shillong - the oldest hill city ( alt. 1496 m) of the North Eastern region with cold climate and zig-zag roads. Shillong is the capital of the State of Meghalaya and is the meeting point of two distinct life styles - the educated yet original tribal life and the western life. On the way from Guwahati to Shillong, hills rise over hills and the windy pine forests welcome us with its sweet melodies

We check- in at Rosaville . The day is reserved for local sightseeing . The spots include Ward Lake , Lady Hydari Park, gold links . The Shillong Peak( 1965 mtrs. ) , the Elephant, Bishop ,Beadon waterfalls, etc.
DAY 04 We go out on a visit to Cherrapunjee, loveliest rural spot of natural beauty and elegance . Situated in the world's wettest region , Cherrapunjee, is a tiny village on the edge of a tremendous gaping canyon . It is a cultural center of the Kilasi people . We visit the Nokhalikai waterfall at Cherranpunjee , It is the world's fourth tallest waterfall. Cherrapunjee is famous for its limestone caves and orange honey.
DAY 05 Drive to Kaziranga National Park.

We cross the lovely blue hills , dense forests , dancing streams , small hamlets and reach down the Brahmaputra Valley . We tread along the Valley passing by sweeping paddy fields, patches of giant bamboos' rows of local nut trees, tall rhododendrons, etc . and, of course, a number of crowded towns . After about 7 hours journey we arrive at Kaziranga National Park, the only National Park in Assam with an area of 430 Sq. Kms. It is the home of the great Indian one horned lhhinoceros . After having a cup of refreshing tea we head for Thengal , where the Heritage Home awaits to host us with nature as company.
  DAY  06 & 07

We rise early and drive to Kaziranga. After arriving at Kaziranga we mount on elephants for an exciting safari through the tall swamp grasslands of Kaziranga, the great Indian one homed rhinoceros, is very easy to see Rhinos graze like domestic cattle in the grasslands and marshes around the Park and can be spotted belly deep in the marsh, chopping contentedly on succulent grass.

On our second day we take a jeep safari around the Park , we are accompanied by a naturalist with birds check list Apart from vast numbers of lumbering rhinos , there are large herds of elephants , several species of deer , hollock gibbon , wild buffaloes and even tigers . Few sanctuaries anywhere can provide as certain an assurance of a unique setting and sight of its best known wild animals and birds as can Kaziranga.

Every evening tribal or Bihu dance by log fire under bamboo grove at Thengal.

DAY 08 Today morning we visit to Sangsua ,tea garden , where we have the unique opportunity to visit the tea factory and observe the long processes involved in tea production.
DAY 09 Today morning we drive to Neematighat to cross the mighty river Brahmaputra on our way to Majuli, the largest river island of our planet and seat of valshnavite culture. There we stay at Auniati Satra which was established three centuries ago and one of the four prominent Satras of Assam . We visit the Satra, see the magnificent bird sanctuary of Majuli and in the evening witness the Satriya Cultural performance.
DAY 10 Transfer to Jorhat Airport for onward journey.
